Effective 1 April 2006, all China Eastern Airlines international and domestic scheduled flights for tickets booked in eligible subclasses, will be able to accrue miles. From the same date, subclass 'M' tickets will earn members 50% of the actual miles flown.

Good news! At least I don't have to check anymore from which departing city will make my ticket eligible for mileage claiming :)

And is this another move from China Eastern Airlines towards Oneworld?

Marco Polo miles?

Devil's Advocate: Not sure you can really make the One World leap. Today when you go to CX's website you get legs from Dragonair for cities CX doesn't service. And since CX is adding cities - allegedly PVG later this year - not sure OW would want two overlapping members.

Where MU milegae would be benefical would be within China. CX can not do within China. Otherwise the mileage is not worth the pain.
