I recently signed up for the Delsey promotion someone had posted (thanks again! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif) and created a new account that had instant silver status - I then got that account merged over the phone with my old Blue account and kept the old Blue account number - however, now, every time I log in, it shows HH Blue on the start page - and then if I go into "My Profile" - it says Silver. Isn't that a bit odd...? Has anybody else had something similar? Not that it matters too much since I will hopefully be Gold soon...but...it's just strange! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

When I log onto www.hilton.com with my HHonors number and pin, it says I'm a Silver VIP. My reservation confirmation emails also say I'm a Silver. When I log onto www.hhonors.com, that site says I'm an HHonors Blue.

Which am I to believe?

Uh ... I guess that depends on how many times you stayed at Hiltons for the last 12 months.... or what plans you signed up for to get you a comp silver status.

You could, perhaps, call HHonors and ask!

I'm not sure if I'm a Diamond or a Double Diamond :p

According to the HHonors line, I'm a Blue, because that's what their computer says. They couldn't explain why the reservation system says I'm a Silver. I guess I'll have to go back and review my stays.

Looks like one computer got updated but the other one didn't.

Does it really matter? Blue or Silver offer hardly any benefits. If you're silver you will make some extra points (which you should see when you logon to hhonors) that's all.

From my experience, it takes 1-2 days for the websites to get synchronized. I once cancelled an award, hhonors.com says my point are back.. but it took 2 days before hilton.com reflects the refunded points.

VIP rewards are for silver and above ONLY.

I've been offered a number of upgrades as a Silver, particularly at Hilton properties in Europe, so to me it does make a difference.

I may not be Gold or Diamond, but since I have status, I'd like to make sure they don't cheat me out of it because of a computer glitch.

Get the HHonors AMEX and you'll be Silver for "life" (as long as you keep the account open - assuming they don't change the current policy). The card has no annual fee...so you've got nothing to lose (even if you don't use it).
