Hertz - XM rental in chevrolet

I just had a Chevrolet SUV with XM radio in it.......neat stuff. Rental location was Montreal.

I also had a chevrolet Malibu in San Jose that had XM. I thought Hertz only had Sirius.

As you probably know, GM exclusively provides XM in their vehicles. If Hertz buys a GM vehicle that comes with factory XM radio, generally they will activiate it instead of Sirius. Its not too common with Malibu's, but the Hertz STS's have it.

GM installed XM radios come with a three month free trial period. I had a GM car in LAS where it worked (500 miles on car), when I rented a STS in PHX it, that vehicle was beyond the three month free trial.

I exchanged correspondence with the manager. It is a business decision for Hertz to support and promote Sirius.
