Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific - One way car rental: Brisbane-Rockhampton

Can anyone point me to a local car rental company that would allow pick up at Brisbane (preferably the airport) and drop off in/near Rockhampton (Avis is a no go, so I'm guessing it's that way with the other bigs)? Many thanks, J-man.

I tried to do something like that a couple of years ago, and the fee for the one-way dropoff was several times the rental charge (something like USD 600).

Hertz Rockhampton is company owned, not a franchaise. I have had one way rentals from them before

Well Budget is coming up with a $165 AUD one way fee.

Europcar tacked on $800 fee (but with extended rentals it seemed to disappear) the total rental fee for 1 day was MORE than a 14 day test rental.

When I tried Thrifty Rockhampton was a choice of drop off locations so maybe ROK either doesn't have Thrifty or they don't allow one-ways.

Hertz refuses to accept Rockhampton Airport even when it `suggests' it from a list.
