I just noticed the strangest thing whenever I use my jetBlue AMEX card and don't know if anyone else notice the same thing. Just when ever I use it, the person processing my payment regardless if its at a cafe, a store, the box office, etc... They sometime comment about jetBlue or ask about jetBlue or be super nice and sometime even give you free stuff like yesterday I bought lunch with the card and the cashier started talking about jetBlue and than toss in a fee soda and chips with my sandwich... I ordered it but she didnt charge me for it and was like its on the house. I was like ooook, what ever, free food. HAHA.
Also when I was traveling, another incident was I paid for my dinner with the card and the credit card slip showed a lower charge than the actual charge for the meal and I asked why is the bill different and the waiter said he took 15% off and asked how often I fly jetBlue. Its just weird.
Anyways, never really experience this with other credit card... seems like jetBlue really do have some type of cult following to it. Anyone else had similar experiences?

Anyone else had similar experiences?

And, my family thought that I am the crazy one! Haha, I am so happy to hear that I'm not alone. I applied for the card the first week that the news came out in early summer 2005. I had the card by the first week of August and I just love it. I have made hundreds of purchases with the card...ranging anywhere from $1 to $5,000 and I have found that many people comment about the card, always in a good way! Here are just a few that I can remember:

1. Banana Republic...gave the cashier the card to swipe and she said "Nice card! Do you like it?" I said "I love it!" and she told me she is a gate agent for jetBlue at JFK for her other job!

2. Knicks game at MSG...handed the cashier the card to swipe at Ranch One concession stand, and she said "JetBlue, huh? Is it really the best way to fly like everyone says!?"

3. Various restaurants...can't keep track, bill comes, leave the card and the server returns and says "thank you; that's a nice card you have there...I fly jetBlue very often and love it!"

4. CVS Drug Store..."Oh! JetBlue....I love to fly jetBlue!"

5. And my PERSONAL FAVORITE!.....on a Song flight operated by DL, they charge for snacks unlike jetBlue. So, the flight attendant announced that they proudly accept AMEX cards. I order a can of Pringle's for $2 and hand her my jetBlue card.....ooo boy, the face I got. And I thought Delta flight attendants had an attitude to begin with!....just show them the jetBlue card on your next flight!

Couldn't you just pay with cash?

What is obnoxious and not classy about that? Delta made it clear that they gladly accept credit cards and prefer AMEX. AMEX is the best card out there. period. The jetBlue AMEX card is awesome! If you have ever flown on Song, you would know they say that they prefer you to pay with credit card than cash....I have no idea why.
But nonetheless, I put anything and everything that I can on the card. I could pay cash...but I like plastic better because it provides me with security.

Plus, why not accumulate as many TrueBlue points as possible? It's so easy to earn and redeem points for award travel...that's because it's jetBlue!

I have often used one airline's card to pay for travel at another airline's counter, and I never thought twice about it. I'm sure they see this several times a day, and I'm only surprised that FA reacted at all.

I would totally pay with a credit card or debit card. I don't know about you but I've been on enough flights (not with jetBlue but mostly with American and USAirways) where the flight attendent would get on the PA asking passengers for change and weither or not they can break a large bill, most often time its a $50 or $100, sometimes a $20. If you ask me, I can totally see why Delta / Song would perfer that you use a credit card.. It's alot easier for them. Your in a plane thats 35,000 ft in the air, their not gonna just pull up to a local corner store to get change when they run out. I seen it happened way too many time when they ran out of change in the air, as for havent seen it happen on jetBlue, I'm sure it has before just I havent seen it happen yet. I'm sure theres other reason why Delta perfer AMEX but I would pay with a credit card just to make it easier on the flight attendent. So if you ask me, I dont think its obnoxious, plus the FA on Song should of been at least more professional, if I was on that flight and they give me that look, I would of just reply, "well, jetBlue was sold out" haha.

Sulsk is totally right, that was a very classless thing to do. It is classless because you hate Delta (why were you flying Delta, what happened to your all so great Jetblue?), and you did it just to be an a**hole. Also it is almost like you get some kind of satsifaction from doing it, and your encouraging people to piss of the flight attendents from another airline. You should grow up.[/QUOTE]

WRONG! I do not have a mean bone in my body. I do not wish bad against anyone or any airline. I tell employees at Delta all the time that it is their management and the company that they work for that I hate - not them. Actually, I am quite friendly with the Delta flight attendants...I have met some very nice ones. I carry two cards in my pocket - AMEX jetBlue card and a MasterCard for the few stores and business which do not accept AMEX. 60% of my award travel is earned through my jetBlue AMEX, so why should I not use it wherever I am? As I said, I use it for any purchase I make, no matter how much $ is beieng spent.

And, I do not encourage people to piss off Delta flight attendants.....a large part of me (and countless others) is pissed off at the way at the way airlines like Delta treated us over the past years, pre-jetBlue.

Well, this was one of the RUDE Delta flight attendants. I hate Delta for years of terrible customer service, crazy policies, skyhigh airfares, etc.

then why did you fly Song? Plus you are admitting that you are pissing the f/a off b/c you said that you hated them, and their coworkers

Come on. If you are offended by a logo on a piece of plastic, you need to lighten up a little bit. If I have a card for Wendy's, and I use it at a McDonalds', is the guy going to get angry. And, I know he said that he had another, but some people may only have one credit card. What should he have done then? If he was flaunting it to the other passengers, then maybe I could understand your point of view, but, personally, I would laugh it off. (I say this being completely unbiased. I would say the same thing if a Jetblue passenger whipped out a Delta card and gave it to the FA.)

I use my jetBlue AMEX proudly and conveniently. It is not meant to piss anyone off. And I never said I dislike EVERY Delta employee...their are even some jetBlue crewmembers (a few specific gate agents in JFK) who I dislike due to their attitude. I just don't like the COMPANY Delta....I don't like Grinstein and other management there. Some employees are nice, some are not nice. I am welcome to use my JetBlue AMEX card anywhere it is accepted.

But to get back to the topic at hand, I have experienced only good things so far with the jetBlue AMEX card! My one and only complaint...transfer time to TrueBlue is a 1-month lag, but I got past that point already.

This from a person who looks for bad news about Jetblue to post on this board. Couldn't you just post on the Delta forum?

Yes, I get comments too! My law firm cafeteria has an attendant who always comments when she sees my card. Once I bought a UA ticket at an airport ticket counter and handed over my jetblue amex. The attendant, with whom I had been friendly during the transaction, joked with the other attendant about not accepting the card (har har).

Certainly the jetblue credit card touches some people in a way that my LL Bean visa does not.

I use my Starwood Amex everywhere (do have AA and US MC/Visa backups) and don't expect any comments from anyone.

The only time someone actually made any comments was two weeks ago when checking into Paddington Hilton. The check-in person made a joke about it burning his hands, which I thought was ok.

At the end of the check in process he made another joke about the card, which I thought was bit unnecessary. But he was very nice and got me checked in at 7 AM to a very nice room, so I didn't really care.

Starwood is by far my favorite hotel chain out there. It's not about "expecting comments" when you show your card. I don't expect anything...it is just that whenever I use my jetBlue AMEX card, most of the time, I get a smile or a positive comment about jetBlue. It's like people really love jetBlue...it is amazing the brand that they have build with such customer loyalty.

I don't think anyone here expect anything extra just becuase they have a jetBlue AMEX card. This trend is just more so about the unusal responses that people got from using it.
