I have an upcoming rental at Toronto and was wondering if anyone had recent experiences?
1. Availability of C/F size cars
2. Upgrades for Five Star/PC members.
3. Ease/quickness of return.

Make sure you inspect whatever vehicle you end up with closely. They are much pickier aboot slight damage than in the US of A.

They have a habit to omit (on purpose?) dollar off PC# when issuing contract to Gold customers.
This totally negate what Gold services is all about. Everytime I need to go into the Gold booth to get it fix, either before renting (easier) and after returning (very much harder and they have an attitude to make you miss your flight).

If you have LDW as part of your CDP, it probably won't apply. Also, no driveway return - you have to go to the counter.

Actually it depends what terminal you are flying into/out of. I rented at Terminal 3 in November and Terminal 1 in February. Terminal 1 is fast, efficient, and both areas have driveway return. Terminal 3 pickup was slower, mainly because of waiting to have security check the papers as I left the lot. Terminal 1 is much quicker once you find the cars. Signage is very poor. Two strangers were having the same problem as we wandered around before eventually (after a very long walk) found the cars.

This whole discussion just became moot. My corporate travel desk picked Dollar instead of Hertz. Because they saved 68$!
Let's see how it pans out.

I had no problems last month. I'm Five Star, booked midsize, drove a Mustang GT with satellite radio. I'm not usually a huge Mustang fan, but I was there solo for a short business trip so I kind of enjoyed it.
I wandered around the garage for a while before finding the rental car area. Poor signage all around. I was alert at return-time - followed signs closely and it wasn't a problem. In general, I think they just expect that all Canadians instinctively know where Pearson is so they don't bother putting up big signs for us Yanks... :D
It was a normal return - a guy with a handheld device processed it quickly. I didn't feel like he gave me the "Enterprise treatment" as far as looking for door dings or anything. Felt like any American Hertz rental to me...
