One of my projects that recently ended was down in Virginia so I drove about 300 miles every Monday & Friday. I decided that with all that driving it would be rather convenient to have a Sirius receiver, that I own, in the car. That way I don't have to pay Hertz for it and save myself & the company some money....All was well since I had a Toyota Avalon Touring which had a tape deck in it.

Fast forward to today....I need to rent a car for my new project. After dropping off the Ford Escape I used to drive back up I went to the Gold counter and asked them if the car I was getting had a tape deck. They were not sure but told me I got a Subaru Outback which, I wrongly assumed had a tape deck. After getting to the Outback and seeing that there was no tape deck I went over to the lot attendant with a walkie talkie and asked if they could find out if there were any other cars that did have a tape deck. Her and I wound up walking around the 20 or so cars in the lot (ISP is a small location to begin with and it being a Wednesday didn't help since weekends/monday morning are the best times to find some selection). Out of the 20 something cars, there were 2 that had a tape deck. a Hyundai Sorrento and a Toyota Rav4(?) which I was not going to get because I booked an intermediate.

The Manager came out and talked to me about this. Gave me the local number and the Manager's extension so I can call on Friday and see if they got me a car with a tape deck.

Some notes on this, the car descriptions all say "Cassette" which of course was true about 4 years ago, but now it's not. I'm sure Cassette decks are no longer standard equipment and Hertz does not get the better stereo option. Also, I am aware that some cars now put a "Line-In" jack which would also work. Problem is, I didn't know which cars have that now.

So, does anyone know what cars have the line-in jack in the stereo?

Tape decks are not of interest to most customers anymore. CD's have taken over. For your Sat radio, can't you just broadcast your sirius on an FM band and tune it on the car radio?

yes, however, NYC & Metro area doesn't really have too many available frequencies (usually 87.9 works but not available on the receiver) AND I have the old Audiovox SIRPNP1 Receiver (that I got for free :D from a coworker) only has 4 presets vs my iPod that has the whole spectrum.

Most GM's do. Impala, Monte Carlo, HHR, H3, Tahoe, etc. Beleive the charger and 300 have it too.
