JetBlue TrueBlue - New Route JFK-RNO?
This article (http://news.rgj.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060309/NEWS10/603090355/1016) mentions the introduction of a new route for JetBlue. I think RNO is an excellent choice as there are no nonstop flights from the East Coast. Exciting! ^

Well, it is not official yet, but it is bound to happen. This is just another example of jetBlue "connecting the dots" on the map. The nonstop to JFK will be great and I would probably expect RNO-LGB, RNO-BOS to be announced soon after.

I thought that B6 is using all of its available slots at LGB and adding RNO-LGB would necessitate discontinuting another flight. Perhaps they would start RNO-BUR.

Some LGB routes are seasonal and at the same time, AA is cutting a lot of service there which will make way for more jetBlue flights. New nonstop service between LGB and SMF begins May 3. Who knows...I am personally surprized at the sudden expansion from BUR...guess there is a nice market there.
I just read that 2 new BlueCities will be announced Friday...my prediction: JAX, RNO...who knows???
Also, does anyone know when MCO will be added as a "focus" city to the route map? There are more flights there than some cities like IAD

Actually, there is good for connections in MCO. They will be added as more new routes in MCO. They already previously announced for 3 new routes from MCO-BUR, BQN & SJU. Does anybody know about MCO will good connections in MCO for expanded more new routes anytime soon.

Though I've been hearing Pittsburgh and Charlotte are likely.

the slots that AA are returning have already been allocated. If I am correct JetBlue received slots for the 2r/t to SMF, the 3rd flight to SMF comes from a LAS reduction in service from 3X to 2X daily service. Alaska and FedEx received the other slots returned by AA I think.
I also thought that RNO and JAX were on the horizon for JetBlue. RNO is an untapped market from the NYC area, and although somebody mentioned on another board that CO already tried the route, I hardly call a Sat only service from EWR trying a route.
On another note and mentioned already, I have heard that big things are to come for BUR and JetBlue. Summer 2007 is rumored that JetBlue will have 3-4 times the service they offer now, and that's from a college bud I graduated with that works mgmt for JetBlue in LGB. All he hears is that BUR is wooing JetBlue and offering them just about whatever they want, no slot restrictions like their LGB counterpart. I think JetBlue got their extra gates in BUR as they wanted, and they feasibly could add one more if operations are consolidated and A6 were to open up. My friend says that LGB is maxxed out, and all he hears is the call for SEA service from the west coast, and that E190 are over a year out, but LGB shouldn't expect anything more from JetBlue, and BUR probably will be the winner.
The O&D from RNO-BUR isn't all that bad, 189 daily pax. On the other hand, SWA tried Sat service on the route and couldn't make it work. I think I remember days from the past that RenoAir, PSA, and Sunworld also offered nonstop service, but as of late, nothing. I would love to see a JetBlue build-up at BUR, but that's the good word around BUR and LGB. On another note, someone mentioned on a page that they watched a JetBlue E190 takeoff and land one day at BUR for quite sometime. Once midway through a taxi to the gate, and push back again bout 45 minutes later, who knows, big things on the horizon, I doubt the E190 will make a LGB debut, simply because the weight jumps it into the larger category of a/c, and why would JetBlue waste avail rev using their slot on a smaller a/c rather than their A320

Maybe jetBlue posted the destinations by accident and realized it and pulled it off? hehe.
