Hilton HHonors - Redeeming reward by a family member?

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know how strict Hilton hotels are with the policy that only the member can redeem award stays?
My wife has to be in New York for 3 days. I originally planned to go with her and I reserved a reward stay on my name at Hilton Times Square. The certificate says very clearly that only the member can redeem this stay.
However, due to circumstances at my workplace, I can’t go. My daughter will be joining her instead of me.
Any experience with this? When they check in, will the hotel ask questions?
Thanks!

Not a problem to get the room. They may not get your "benefits" such as free breakfast.

I see you are a Diamond. Log in on-line and use the chat feature that is set up for Diamonds. I booked an award stay for my son's honeymoon and didn't follow the exact proto call so it ended up with my name on it. I got on-line with a custmer service rep and they straightened everything out. ^

I've done this quite a few times for my son and daughter, but always met the requirement that the Award is in their name, since Award certificates, once issued, aren't transferrable. Try ringing HHonors and cancel Award in your name and have it re-issued in your wife's name and re-book room in your wife's name also. My family have always got the Diamond benefits when using Awards from my account.
