Hilton HHonors - Scottsdale: Hilton, Doubletree or Tapatio (Phoenix)

I've searched and read the reviews, to be honest they all sound pretty good. So how would you rank them and why?

Which is the most luxurious? Most romantic? Best rooms? Nicest pool? HHonors Lounge? Fewest screaming kids? :)

Also wondering if the weather is tolerable @ the end of May. There is about a 10 degree jump between the average highs for May and June!

I am curious to hear people's thoughts too as I will probably be taking my family to Scottsdale next Feb.

My dad lives in Phoenix so he has checked out the Doubletree P.V. and Squaw Peak for me. He said Squaw Peak was tons of kids and looked really old and worn. The Doubletree had really nice grounds, also old but seemed to be better preserved.

My sisters have stayed at Embassy Biltmore and Embassy Scottsdale. The one in Scottsdale is fairly new and apparently very nice. The Biltmore one is old but well kept, they liked it.

Also think the newly rehabbed Hilton Scottsdale Resort looks nice, anyone been there?

A few years ago I stayed at the Doubletree, I wasn't there for a vacation so I can't comment on kids, ammenities but I remember it as a nice stay. Rooms were all on the 1 floor, kind of intresting architecture.

The Tapatio is a convention resort. It's been a number of years since I've been there, but the rooms were sort of like Embassy Suites rooms but with exterior access. As only a gold, I don't know if I'd recommend it.

Have you considered Homewood Suites instead of Embassy Suites? I haven't stayed at any of the PHX locations, but they may be a lot cheaper and still give you a lot of space, plus a full kitchen - I like the full-size refrigerator on 3- and 4-night stays.

Hi,

I'm not sure if any hotels have a HHonors/Executive lounge.

I love the Tapatio ( 8 pools around the resort) with desert hiking trails, flat screen tvs and new bedding ( low rise building apart from the tow central buildings)

I ususally found the smaller pools were practically deserted at times of day so had them to myself.

There is the Arizona Biltomre bcoming a Hilton ( under the W-A brand) and looks nice

I was at the Tapatio at new Year temp was 70 degrees.

It will be getting warm in May/June but if you have plenty of water and avoid the peak time exertions ( and go to the a/c malls etc) it is bearable.

Always got upgrades to the quieter mountainside suites and breakfast coupons.

Regards
