Hilton HHonors - Pets and Upgrades

My fiancee has a small dog; it's part and parcel of our relationship. Our hound doesn't travel by air, but she's often along on road trips. Not many Hilton Family properties accept dogs. But for West Coast properties that do take dogs, I imagine we'd be stuck in a ground floor room next to an elevator shaft if we admitted to having a dog.
Is there such a thing as a significant Diamond upgrade with dog in tow? Advice please.
Homewood suites Seattle downtown accepts dogs on all floors. Saw a couple of Labs a few weeks back

We recently stayed at the Doubletree SFO with our 45 lbs. dog and we were put on the 7th or 8th floor, whichever one isn't the very top floor. I think those floors are considered to be the "upgrades." We were given a corner room very far from the elevator. Our dog had never been in an elevator before, so it was funny to see her reaction. They also charged us a $25 non-refundable deposit.
I forgot to mention that there is a dog park right down the road from the DT SFO. In fact you pass it on the way to the hotel. It's a little sliver of land that is fenced in, but it also right next to the sewer plant. I didn't smell when we were there, but I'm sure it is quite capable. The park is in Burlingame in case anyone needs to look it up. It is mentioned in some of those "travel with your dog" books.

I have a 100# rottweiler and have been staying frequently at the Homewood Suites in Pinehurst, NC. I believe they charge me a $50 fee (per stay). My rooms have always been on a high floor and a standard HW room. I've had both reward and paid stays there in the past couple of months. I haven't gotten any upgrades but there really isn't any to be had at a HW.
It is my understanding that they use this fee to steam clean the rooms after I leave.
btw...this HW is a great place for dogs. Directly behind the hotel is woods as far as you can see. Its a great place to walk/run my dog.
I take my dog with me whenever I travel by car and many times end up at Candlewood, or Staybridge because of their pet policy.
The first time Samson got on an elevator was quite amusing. Now he just thinks its normal.

Thanks for the replies. Seems like Homewood sees dogs quite a bit. How about other HHonors hotels - any experiences getting Diamond upgrades with pets?

My wife and I often travel with our small dog on road trips. Just as we made Gold, we booked a week at the Doubletree Hotel Denver at the lowest available rate. We mentioned in the comment that we would be bringing a dog. At check-in, they charged us a $20-$25 pet fee for cleaning and assigned us a room on the top floor. We arrived to find (what was to us) a huge suite with ~50" projection TV, three bathrooms, and a dining room table for eight. We assumed that it must have been an upgrade based on the Gold, but the hotel seemed pretty empty for the first few nights, and that could have played a part. Either way, we were very pleased for less than $80/nt over Christmas week (2004).
