Hi everybody,

perhaps only the German native speakers will know "Grimm's Märchen Sieben auf einen Streich"...

Had an experience today which reminded me of the fairy tale: On the flight DUS - MUC today there were seven Hons which became obvious when we all entered the limo bus for the transfer to the terminal.

At least for me this was the flight with the highest number of Hons among the pax!

Really amazing... That must have been an earth shattering experience!
But I also have to add that on my last flight from MUC to JFK there were also 5 HONs onboard!

So the requirements at the moment are 600k in two calendar years!
But what would HON+ require?
1.000.000 miles in one year (calendar year of course)?

Regarding Super-HON, I'd opt for 1 Mio. BIS miles in the month of February (1.1 Mio. in leap years). However, only miles accrued in full-fare F on LH metal in seats 83A or 2A should count for status. Also, flights serving cold nuts won't be eligible for mileage accrual. Last but not least, pax who are organized enough to book and travel a minimum of 6 transatlantic Z fares ex Germany (60 days advance booking) per calendar year will be presented with honorary lifetime Super-HON status. They'll also gain access to an exclusive, ultra-cheap Z fare (ZSHOT).

Why don't I think that you are exaggerating a little bit? It's probably because of LH's M&M policy and the steadily changing terms and conditions for everything!

But what about the service for the HON+ members? I mean the service standard is already pretty high, i.e. it is getting difficult for LH still to improve the service... Probably they will imitate Emirates and there is also a car service which is picking you up in the city and bringing you to the airport!

HON is not about LH accomodating your masochistic urges.
HON is about you making a habit of overpaying LH for a seat in F.

They did it at that time - which I found surprising - especially when the HON "Manager" in HKG told me that they nrmally only have about 6 PA to handle it - and that they had to arrange for extra personnel. But he said this was truly exceptional.
Generally I have found the HON service in HKG to be among the best - also in terms of assistance and personalized service.

Do you really think they would introduce a higher status than HON?
All fantasies..

You must understand that if there is seven people going with a limo bus from the aircraft is probably HONs with guests/family members.

If there were seven HONs it would be natural too because they probably spreading out to intercontinental flights. The domestic/european aircrafts are filled with HONs, but not the intercontinental.
Cmon, you know that we HONs are flying between 80-250 flights every year and if there is ~2000 HONs out there you could figure it out by yourselves that there is more than 1 HON present at the airport.

I agree with 1..4, but you forgot one important thing as compensation:

5) Executive bonus back on earned miles, not on distance miles.

That would bring me 25.582 miles on a FRA-SFO leg in F, whereas currently I only get 19.898. :(

Thank you Totti,

In a way you can sympatize with LH decision not to count UA metal miles because of all the domestic UA flights. The US based HONs are likely to hop on LH metal overseas (atlantic) if they want to remain HONs.

The european HONs that travel a lot RTW (me) doesn't like this decision because it takes away the HON miles from the UA flights over the pacific (LAX-HNL-NRT, LAX-NRT, SFO-NRT, ORD-PEK for example).
I am now forced to do more expensive and exhausting round-trips (FRA-SFO, FRA-SIN, FRA-JNB in 10 days). After those trips (even if you fly F) you are likely to be home for at least 4 days.

Yes, but 375% where for FTL and SEN. Both are now on 325%. As a HON one earns 350% now, my hope would be 450%, of course! :D

And yes, I also made many many 3.750 F miles on a short domestic UA flight. ^

Now the miles are down, but much more worse, UA offers only that bull.... coach on all short flights (They call it express or shuttle, HA!). Which I hate even more, than the famous BUS rides in FRA and which I try to avoid, whenever I can. Sitting lopsided in an aircraft can't be good. Not on a 4hr ride and not on a 30min hop.

Hi Tom,

It is still your decision which route to fly. Nobody forces you to changes your routings to requalify for HON and to be honest, I would not fly much more expensive routes, because if you are in F anyway on longhauls, you do not need HON to access the FCT and service onboard should be perfect. The entire 52hr trip is expensive enough, so I don't take care of a cheap domestic flight. As a customer I want to have the choice and I'm willing to pay for that.
