I just browser on the jetblue and that I found new nonstop MCO-BUR on June 30, 2006. Here retail information schedule to BUR:

Flight 348 BUR-MCO Dep- 8:00am Arr- 3:40pm
Flight 349 MCO-BUR Dep- 3:25pm Arr- 5:55pm

These are using on A320 MCO-BUR and isn't first airline new nonstop MCO-BUR with more than O&D traffic. Does anything know about jetblue being launched to BUR and still no service FLL-BUR yet for this time.

I just looked but couldnt find anything about this on jetblue.com. Hmmmm.

If they do start this service you can bet they are trying to go for Disney's corporate business since BUR is about 2 miles from the Studios, compared with who they usually use which is UA out of LAX.

Interesting.

Wow...I can't believe that they'd put the schedule up and allow bookings before an official announcement. How'd you think to look for that? And how long did it take you to find that date?

The flight times actually look pretty good, compared to their flight of LGB-FLL. My only conclusion for that is that MCO is more leisurely oriented, while Fort Lauderdale has more business. This is good news for Jetblue as I have heard that they are doing very well on their current Burbank routes.

Try as they might, UA is in no danger of losing Disney's corporate business to B6. ;)

UA's nonstops LAX-MCO actually garner paid F business from Disney. If low-fares from BUR to MCO were Disney's primary focus, then Disney corporate business would have migrated to WN years ago. :)

But the difference with Southwest is that they have never had a direct flight. You have to make at least one layover, which isn't popular with business travellers. So, the obvious conclusion for Disney is to send their employees down to LAX. Again, I don't think United is the target here. Jetblue has seen tremoundous loads to JFK, and, with the possibility of maybe 14 more flights out of BUR, they have to expand somewhere.

intersting thought though, i can't see JetBlue just parking the plane idle in BUR when it arrives at 555pm, could more be coming?

Maybe they'd keep it in BUR until 9:30pm or so and add a redeye to JFK.

OR, maybe they are turning BUR into a mini focus city and will announce another city pair. Hmmmm :)

It'd be awesome to see some new city pairs out of BUR since LGB is pretty far for us northern LA folks to drive to.

Woo-hoo..... Big whoop. A lot of good this type stuff does for these "underserved" mid-size markets in the Southeast (excluding FL). What happened to the fleshing-out of the route map that was to happen when B6 started getting the 190's??

You got that right for these 3 of them new nonstop BUR-LAS & MCO and LGB-SMF, too. Does B6 willing expanded more flight in BUR? Also, there is another additional flight JFK-SMF on June 1, 2006 for during summer seasonally.

Is there that much demand to travel from Southern California to Florida? I always assumed that there is a huge snowbird demand from the colder states, but didn't realize there was that much from the beach to the beach.

You might be surprised by the number of people in CA whose elderly, retired parents live in FL. We fly to MIA several times a year just because that's where the grandparents are. :)

And despite my protests, and our proximity to plenty of amusement parks in LA, we've even visited some of the FL amusement parks. ;)
