Logged on to hertz.com today to confirm my reservation for tonight at PHX. I noticed that the total est charge decreased from approx $90 to $55.
Sure enough, when I tried to book the same reservation (same car class, days/times, cdp, promo code), the total price was indeed $35 cheaper than my original booking from 2 mos ago.
In many years of renting with Hertz and other agencies, I thought you'd be locked into the rate quoted at reservation, regardless if the rates subsequently increase or decrease.
