Online Travel Booking and Bidding Agencies - is there a hotel room avail. search tool?

I am trying to figure out which hotel has more availablity and wondered if there is such a thing as a hotel availability search tool or is it only limited to travel agents? Thanks

1) Individual hotel web sites; or
2) Travel sites like travelocity.com, orbitz.com, hotels.com, expedia.com will generally (but not always) only list the hotels that have available rooms.

Travelaxe might help a bit, but it's not generally going to tell you how many rooms are left in a particular hotel.

Also, many third party sites will show a hotel as booked, even if it isn't, if the hotel has no rooms available to that site.
