I have a Y class non-changable ticket HKG-SIN tonight. Want to take the earlier flight 4 hrs earlier, any chance HKG staff will let me get on the flight even though I'm on a non-changeable ticket?

Guy Betsy Mar 2, 06, 5:49 pm It will really depend if the check-in staff catches on on the nochanges permitted in the endorsements of the ticket. E-ticket or otherwise. They *may* let you on. Or they may ask you go speak to the ticketing desk first to get an validity check on it. But sometimes, it's easier than we had hoped for. Give it a try anyway and let us know. In Feb CNY, I booked one of CX's special fares HKG-TPE. The flights were changeable, but to selected flights only. I was coming in BKK-HKG on TG, but that flight was delayed, and I would miss the HKG-TPE connection. The next "allowable" flight would be 5 hours later. Anyway, I got to the airport, and asked if they could accommodate me on an earlier flight. The checkin staff happily agreed and put me on standby on a flight which left only 1 hour later than the original. Guy Betsy Mar 3, 06, 2:16 am In Feb CNY, I booked one of CX's special fares HKG-TPE. That was because the delay was of no fault to you. marcuslai Mar 3, 06, 8:47 am honestly, as much as we'd like to think CX staff is understanding and considerate, chances are exceedingly low that you'll find a clown who would let this slip. any check in agent would know to check restrictions when you request a flight change. and no matter how much of a convenience the change would be to you, it is simply not fair to other pax who observe their ticket restrictions or pay to get around them. Fly Me To The Moon Mar 3, 06, 8:50 am That was because the delay was of no fault to you. But why would CX "care" about that? As I said in my post, I was on TG flying BKK-HKG and then on a separate CX ticket from HKG-TPE. Does CX have any responsibility to accommodate my flight delay? bagold Mar 4, 06, 5:21 pm Managed to catch the earlier flight. They charged me SGD75 to change. They said as I'm an elite member they allowed me to do so. Not sure if it is true or not. I saw the SGD75 pop up in their system but they also had to call someone to authorize the change. Does CX have any responsibility to accommodate my flight delay? Usually yes. Even if you're coming in on a different airline on a different ticket. CX understands. At least in HK. Most other airlines don't get a sh*t. |
