Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - F questions, meals anytime and Dessert wine?

Does Cathay allow you in F to have your main meal when you want it. Also I can't see any Dessert wine/pudding wine mentioned anywhere and the Port doesn't look anything special either. Do they have sweet wine in F at the moment? Can I bring my own?!

Yes - but you have to ask the cabin crew to serve it to you (and perhaps to keep it cool until you want it).

As an F pax there isn't much you can't do so yes, you probably can bring your own BUT airport rules still apply and you're probably going to have to acquire the wine AFTER passing through immigration. So you'll have to check out the duty free rather than use your own personal collection from you home wine cellar.

Why? I am not aware of any restrictions in taking wine onto a flight. The only restrictions are the customs limits at the far end. I have certainly cariied one or two bottles in cabin baggage HK-LHR in the past.

A few airports are confiscating bottles of anything at their security checkpoints. Ostensibly in the name of security. I've had this happen several times, never at a major airport but at CUN (Mexico) for example. I suspect it goes into the airport staff party fund.

CX has no problem with serving you anything that you bring on board. I agree with the comments about the lack of desert wine, but there is little demand (and their port is surprisingly good, outperforming its label). Once I did bring a half bottle of d'Yquem (it was my birthday). For airline desert wines, both QF and BA often have DeBartoli Noble One (better than most TBA's). Rather surprisingly AA stocks an excellent sherry and port and sometimes carries Optiz TBAs (Austrian and remarkable).

On my two F flights on BA ( LHR-SFO-LHR) at New Year , we had the Optiz Austrian Dessert wine ( delicioous!! :D )
