Mexicana has a very nice roundtrip airfare from SAT-MEX of $99.00 + tax. Valid for Monday through Friday nonstop departures in May and June (unlike AM's $109 base fare which only allows travel on one day per week, forcing a week-long stay). Taxes and fees are approximately $100. Found on Travelocity.

Even though the fare rules do not restrict days of the week, it appears only bookable on Tuesdays in May and June. Are they matching AeroMex rules? What am I missing?

Delta has a matching fare that is unbookable, either due to routing or some crazy "publish but do not let anyone have it" rule.

DL has now matched. Presumably would route through ATL. If you can also route through SLC or CVG, would be an even better mileage run. The relevant rules:

The fare rules originally allowed Monday through Friday travel. I was able to reserve a Friday departure and Monday return on Memorial Day weekend (though I decided not to purchase it ultimately). Now MX's rules have been changed to only allow Tuesday travel:

Every one else is flying 6 rt on AA to get the 60k bonus AA is offering between SAT DFW AUS MCI STL for $56 why not join that party and consider this as part of that necessary mileage run.


Basically if you are in AUS STL MCI fly to DFW then on to STL then take the MEX trip. when you return just 1 more $56 RT to dallas will land you a 30K bonus plus online booking, min mileage credits, and credit card miles at a total cost on AA of $210 tax included. Double this and you get Elite status on AA with a challenge.
