Hi All,
I just signed up for the #1 Gold Club through my company. I am currently 23 and I was wondering if this allowed me to rent from Hertz because I am under a corporate account. I haven't got any response from Hertz on this question yet.
Thanks

When i was under 25 on business travel with corp. account I have turned up at airport locations and been refused a car because they didnt take ANYONE under 25. I believe I did find other locations that did however accept under 25's. Wait 2 yrs and then there will be no issues :p

I think it depends on what your corporate contract says, but if they allow it, then it shouldn't be a problem. I'm 23, and my corporate CDP allows business and personal rentals with no underage fee -- in over 85 rentals last year (in multiple countries), I never got charged an underage fee or had any problems.
Oddly enough, last week I rented at downtown SF, and they tacked on an underage fee. The return agent promptly removed it, but that's the first time it's ever happened to me...

I am 23 and a law student. I get my rentals with the American Bar Association CDP and we're guaranteed no underage rental fees. (Once though I did have an agent who wanted to tack them on because my rental was for personal reasons, but I just showed her a printout of the ABA/Hertz policy as stated on ABA's website and she quickly backed off). I had a Gold agent tell me that if you're Number 1 Gold you don't get charged underage fees either. (For awhile I couldn't book online because it automatically added an underage fee so I'd call gold reservations and they'd take it off.)
OT: I hate these underage fees....I've only been in one car accident (rear ended while I was stopped in a traffic backup), and never even gotten so much as a speeding ticket!

Definitely depends on the corp CDP. My companys CDP has no underage rental fees at all. But one hertz agent said my company has the largest corp contact with hertz - so I imagine all these excess fees are waived.

I am also a Hertz #1 gold member through ABA and for some reason in NY and NJ states Hertz claims that the underage fee is not waved. I had no problem renting in Ohi, but in NJ and NY state they always tack on the underage fee. :( :(

Thanks for the input. I just got a response from Hertz saying they will rent to me, but there may be a daily charge. I am already being charged through other renters, so that isn't anything new.
Thanks

if the CDP says under 25 then you are ok. If not you can still rent but will be charged the underage fee.

I've been able to rent form Hertz without any extra fees. Had no problems in SF. Additionally, under my corp's CDP, the age limit was lowered to 18.

When I worked for a large company with a Hertz CDP, our age was 21 with no surcharges. I never used it, but a friend of mine did for both personal and business travel with no problems.

That's odd. I've only rented at the Buffalo Airport location but they did not charge me the underage rental fee, and upgraded (complimentary) me from a compact to a full-size with NeverLost!
I always carry around my ABA info that states that Hertz does not charge underage fees. If someone still tries it after showing that have them call the #1 Gold number. It takes time but they'll make sure the charges are removed! It often seems to me that many agents are unaware that not all under 25 year olds are treated equal.

Where did you find that ABA info that states that Hertz does not charge underage fees. I searched the wbsite and could not find it...
Thanks

Many years ago when I was barely 18, I rented from Hertz many times. At the time, I was a semi-paid intern at a large company. Their contract with Hertz allowed me to rent, even for personal uses. The Hertz agent usually gave me that "you're too young to rent" look, but as soon as they pulled up my reservation, they were fine with it.
