Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - How long for CX to charge for tix?

I just bought 2 J tickets from LHR-AKL, one direct on their website and 1 on the phone to customer services (long story but different dep dates and dodgy website meant I could not do it online). I paid by Amex for both but have not seen the charges come through yet. Any idea how long it takes before I can expect to see it (obviously the longer the better!)

It depends on when the ticket is issued. Usually it is within 2 days, but once I had CX not issue the ticket for over a month. Rather surprising, but in that case the fare rules didn't require it to be issued and delaying the issue was advantageous to me (but I had not requested it).

Now been almost 2 weeks since I bought the tix and still no sign of the charge coming through. The booking is visible online so I assume that is fine, but strange that they haven't taken my money yet.

One time I had AONE3 issued on CX's stock. It was five handwritten booklets stapled together. The charge wasn't shown on my credit card until almost one month later. It had me worried a bit. :p I suggest you check with your credit card issuer to see if CX has locked some of your credit line.

The last CX tickets I booked directly online with them took 1 month+ to be charged to my Amex! Really weird, I found myself calling CX to double ceck all was OK with our booking!
