I found this auction (http://www.skyauction.com/action/offer/1109832) on SkyAuction and was wondering if anyone know what airline this might be on? Based on the list of available origins and destinations, I figure it's probably AA, CO, or US, but am not quite sure. Considering the coach fares I'm finding for SFO-SXM for the dates I need are over $900, $1118 for First Class isn't all that bad (United's FC fare is $1237).

Skyauction inventory isn't always limited to one airline. For example, my parents won an auction to Asia, and were first offered NW inventory. When the schedule didn't work, they were offered UA. So it appears that Skyauction either has a deal with a travel agency or multiple airlines.

On Skyauction I've noted language such as: an major American airline, Rt in the Continental USA, and, a major US carrier. I've wondered if they're throwing out clues. Anyone bid, won and can comment?

Won/purchased a trip to China at a decent price. $300 add on to fly from Minneapolis. The routing was kind of long on the outbound. MSP-LAX-NRT-PEK (29 hours total) return PEK-NRT-MSP all NW and earn milage too. You have to be careful because sometimes milage accrual is not allowed. With this trip we basically earn enough milage for a free award ticket (25,000 miles) when you add in the elite bonus! It was a air/hotel/guide package. Also check to see if it includes airport departure tax....on this trip the guide hit us up for the airport departure tax. I have bought several trips through skyauction, just do your homework up front and read the fine print. I think you are bidding against a lot of people who have no clue of what the real costs add up to be in the end! Therefore, it is sometimes difficult to get a great deal.

I agree. I find that you really have to look hard to find a good deal on Skyauction as I have been tracking one destination for over a year now and the best price I have seen is only 200 dollars lower than what appears to be a fare that is quite common.

Seems that Skyauction doesn't really offer that great of deals when you look at all the add on's, taxes, suppliments, etc.
