Flight International reports that the A380, configured with 853-seats, will undergo evacuation testing on March 26th in the Hamburg facility.
There is some confusion as to whether MSN002 or MSN007 will be the airframe that is used for the test.

I got a question. If they can't evacuate 853 seats in the 90 seconds but can evacuate say 800 could Airbus just say it's maximum capcity is 800? I mean, who is going to stuff 853 seats in one of those things anyway?

Emirates is/was considering all-economy seating 780 or so persons. I'm sure some of the other markets (India, China) would be interested in 853 seats.
What I want to know is will everyone be wearing Holstein print clothing?

Honestly I do not know, but I am guessing Airbus would be given an extra chance or two to try and meet the target. If they still cannot, I am guessing the plane would be certified for the lower limit.
The birds being flown by QF, LH, AF, VS, SQ, and such are all expected to be three-class birds with a 470-520 seat config, so even if they can't make 853, I would think it would not affect certification for the birds that will carry less folks.

I seem to recall from the PBS series on the 777 that it ended up being certified for one short of its theoretical capacity because one person didn't make it out during the test.
