Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - First time CX flyer... Seat selection available online? Marco Polo? Any advice?

I'm flying CX for the first time soon. Is there any way to do seat selection online?

Is there any reason to join Marco Polo if we do not use CX regularly?

Our itinerary is SAN-LAX-HKG-BKK-HAN in business. We are taking the midnight flight out of LAX.

We usually fly AA and have Plt and Gold status there.

Any advice?

You don't need to do seat selection on line.. what's wrong with just calling the CX reservations centre?

You're flying in Business Class - so that allows you to do advance seat reservations. Call CX res in the US, or your TA whom you did your booking with.

Or if you redeemed AA miles for this ticket, AA should have done seat selection for you.

Definitely no need for you to join the Marco Polo Club for something as simple as this.

Nothing wrong with calling CX... other than they are closed today.

When are you travelling... that you can't wait till tomorrow to call CX?

And again, if your TA did the booking for you, he/she should have done seat selection for you...

If you booked through AA, then AA should have done the seats for you...

You may only choose seats on the CX website if you booked your ticket through them. You may however visit the website to see the seatmaps of the planes you're going to be travelling on..

You are flying Business already, can always reserve a seat when you book the flight.

Even if you fly in economy, your AA Gold and/or Platinum status can always let you to have seat reservation on Oneworld flights.
