Hi,

Sorry to ask, but I have a quick couple of questions regarding a Hertz LAX booking.

I have booked an Audi A6 Quattro for 28-days this summer, picking up from LAX. I am a Hertz 1 Club Gold card holder. Do I just board a Hertz bus and proceed to the car pick up base, or do I have to stop at an airport reservations desk?
Does anyone know the engine size of the A6 on the Hertz fleet, and what sort of spec should I expect?

My only experience of a Hertz 1 Club car rental was at SNA (John Wayne, Orange County) where you bypassed the desks, went to the car rental garage, your name was displayed on a board, you got your car from the bay, the paperwork was there for you, and I was away. Very painless and easy...

Thank you. :)

28 days with an A6! That's going to be a boatload of ZE1 points (if that's what you choose)! Just get on the bus ... and give your name to the driver. The first stop is for #1 Gold members (and prestige renters). Your name should be on the board.
The A6s at LAX have a 3.2l engine. They have factory sat nav disabled as there is NeverLost. My recollection is that the car is pretty much top of the line in terms of features. I had one at LAX this time last year.

Thank you for your quick reply... ^

Now, silly question number 3, what are ZE1 points???

I got sent a free Hertz 1 Gold card application with my Amex, but had never bothered using it until the Xmas holidays 2005/2006. I rented a Volvo XC70 for 18-days out of hertz at SNA, should I have got some points as well?

How much is that rental going to cost??

ZE1 points are Hertz's award points for their frequent rental program. Basically you earn 1pt / $1 USD. 500 points = 1 free day (up to full size). 5,000 points = 1 free week in any prestige vehicle.

All the A6 I have rented were rather basic, only Premium Package, Cold Weather Package, and SiriusŪ Satellite Radio.

The interesting toys were not installed....no tech package, heated steering wheel, Adaptive air suspension, Adaptive cruise control, Advance key, Parktronic, etc.

2,100 USD for the month + my last rental was 1,500 USD. :(

As for the ZE1 points, I looked at my last invoice and I could not see any mention of ZE1 points. Does hertz send a statement to card holders?

You will need to call Hertz and specify ZE1 points as your preferred method of earning frequent renter rewards.

It is possible, if you had nothing specified that they might credit you the points from your previous rental also.

Good luck

Since you're coming from Scotland, it might be worth noting that ZE1 points aren't worth anything outside the US.
