Hoping to get to Oaxaca using an award ticket. Anyone with experiences getting there? Were you able to fly directly there, or did you take ground transport for Mexico City (and if so, how was that experience)?

there are EXCELLENT premium bus services to Oaxaca from MEX or nearby Bus centers. Business-class type recliner seats, although these buses can cost as much as a flight.

If you have Skyteam miles, there is a non-stop flight from Tijuana. A domestic Mexican ticket on Aeromexico is 20K miles (at least with Worlperks.)
