I'm taking my son to Wales for the annual Prisoner Convention (TV Show from 60's). I have found DL tickets for $511.00. AA tickets for $560.00 & BA for $593.00. Does anyone happen to know how far out is the best time (sweet spot) for purchasing tickets on this route or if they will have any discounts? Has anyone seen any better tickets? My route is either ATL - London or BHM - London. I have seen the fares on BA that are teasers because when you add in taxes, they become higher than DL or AA. I would like to maximize my FF Miles as well, so here is some details of my preferred carriers: DL Skymiles, AX Gold Bus, AX Plat, AAdvantage, AAdvantage World MC Gold, US Airways World MC Premier, CO Onepass & BA Executive Club. The others either don't fly the route or I have no miles in the airline. This of course does not mean that I wouldn't consider them. Any advise would be appreciated.
The dates of the convention are March 31 thru April 2. I can leave as early as the 29th and return as late as the 3rd.
