For you travelers, AA flight (no confirmed flight number) went down outside NYC, all local airports currently closed, though no cause has been given.

where are all of you getting this information, and why are you not posting links or naming your sources. i just pullerd up the next two CO flights CLE-LGA, and they show everything "On-Time" 3190 and 3192. both from the CO website.

i've seen nothing yet on any credible news website saying that any airports, bridges or tunnels are closed.

please do not add to the hysteria that the media is going to create before any facts come out.

ABCnews.com (http://abcnews.go.com/sections/us/DailyNews/queenscrash011112.html) is among the news agencies reporting all NYC airports are closed.

I removed the flight number from my post prior to posting, pending confirmation. I am in NYC, and listening to official city news. My post was to assist travelers only.

Just heard that the same is true for EWR. The report wasn't clear if this is only for planes that are alreday in the air or for all flights.

The web sites are slow to update. I've been listening to WABC channel 7.

The following link is a good source of cross-Hudson river info, and is updated in a timely fashion too.

Per a press release at UAL.com, NYC airports are under an FAA groundstop program until 2pm.
