Southwest Rapid Rewards - Can only book one Ding fare/city pair??

I just booked a one-way DING fare for SAN-SJC (I always book one-way because it makes changes easier). When I tried to book the return DING fare, I got the following error message: "You have reached the maximum number of attempts to request this offer."

Umm...so the number of attempts to request this offer is one! Sure, I may have clicked on it more than once, but I didn't actually purchase anything. Is Southwest telling me I cannot book more than one DING fare between any given city pair at a time? I have never experienced this problem in the past.

I guess you loaded the offer page 50 times, that's maximum.

No way I loaded it 50 times...maybe 5 or 6. However, I was able to wait 10 minutes and go back and book it while logged in. Guess maybe they have a timeout period. Still seems odd to me, as all I did was book two one-ways, but I guess it was just a fluke.

If you click the back button, rather than reloading from the Ding thing that pops up, you will get an error message.

I haven't got any Ding specials in three days, have they stopped? If not, perhaps it's something with my system. How much is SJC-SAN?

Most DING!s this week have been targeted. That said, there is currently a systemwide DING! running until 9:00 PM CST that includes SJC-SAN:

San Jose to San Diego for $34-$43 One-Way!
- Fare is valid for travel everyday, February 5 through February 28, 2006 only

Not sure I like this targeted Ding stuff. As others here on FT have speculated, this targeting of Ding fares is just ripe for targeting DIFFERENT fares to different people for the same Ding sale at sometime in the future...
