Also, it might actually not be in his job description to respond on FT to complaints about the hotel. @:-) The particular post referred to by the OP is nothing more than a whimsical response to an amusing thread. (But then, no good deed goes unpunished, does it? ;) )

William has stated many times that he is not the only Starwood employee here, just the only one in an "official" capacity, iirc.

Plenty of Starwood folks have posted here, there was Jim at the Beach... and Michael @ Westin LAX... and DimplomaticAmy. Usually they turn up here, make a post, and then disappear never (or rarely) to be heard from again. Perhaps they stumble onto comments here or a thread is forwarded to them for comment/review -- but I've gotten the sense that folks who have come here on their own might have been admonished not to conitnue posting? (That Starwood Lurker is the official voice here and that Starwood doesn't want multiple voices?) Just a conspiracy theory, but one that would explain why folks come on here but then disappear even when their property is being discussed.

Signal to noise ratio on Flyertalk is pretty low: lots of repetition, lots of misinformation, lots of venting to mask the useful gems. I think one needs to enjoy the process to stay with us, and its easy to see that it would seem too much like work for those who deal with travelers daily.

Well, this Platinum, for one, has only ever been given Executive rooms at the Sheraton Heathrow. There are no suites at this hotel (aside from hospitality suites), so an upgrade to an Executive room is as good as you're going to get. If you're really lucky, you'll get upgraded to an executive room with porn. But not in 1225.

But I agree that this particular property has some endemic problems that really need to be sorted out.

FWIW, I met Stefan recently. He is making many improvements at the Sheraton LHR. I'm a bit of a regular there and I like it a lot. They are renovating over 60 more rooms and adding a Club. So Platinum members will likely get Club access and Club rooms, based on availability.

He's doing a great job. ^
