Apart from winter/xmas, when is the generally cheapest season for hotels in Vegas? Is the height of summer (July/August) cheaper than Fall/Spring because it's too hot?

Is the height of summer (July/August) cheaper than Fall/Spring because it's too hot? Weekdays are cheaper than weekends Other pricing depends on convention business and US Holidays, they have the most flexible pricing policy of any International Destination. Prices often change by the hour ...Las Vegas operates totally on the law of supply and demand. Its cheap when its quiet and expensive when its busy for example in May 2006 at Paris-Las Vegas..lowest price is $109 and highest for same room is $279, there is no low season or high season just cheap days and expensive days. humanoid94 Jan 21, 06, 9:24 am The heat of the summer/midweek is generally the cheapest I have found. That being said, midweek hotel stays are usually fairly reasonable year round. mbstone Jan 21, 06, 11:06 pm Apart from winter/xmas, when is the generally cheapest season for hotels in Vegas? July 5-August 31 when it is 110 degrees F - but who cares? You need never leave your air-conditioned hotel. sxc Jan 22, 06, 5:18 am 1. The week before and after Christmas, except New Years Eve 2. By picking a cheap season, i'm also hoping it will be a bit more quiet so that the pools are not to crowded. But then at 110 degrees, maybe it's going to be too hot to enjoy myself outside.... sonofzeus Jan 22, 06, 6:30 am By picking a cheap season, i'm also hoping it will be a bit more quiet so that the pools are not to crowded. Right...and I'm going to HK to enjoy the horse racing!! Bran28 Jan 22, 06, 9:06 pm Thanks for the info. This is what I thought. By picking a cheap season, i'm also hoping it will be a bit more quiet so that the pools are not to crowded. But then at 110 degrees, maybe it's going to be too hot to enjoy myself outside.... Its a dry heat! ;o) Besides they keep the pools nice and cool ya got to use them if you go to a place with a nice one! venice4504 Jan 22, 06, 9:09 pm Most of the hotels also have little cabanas that you can rent and during those summer months it is easier to get your hands on one of those. ijgordon Jan 23, 06, 9:59 am Thanks for the info. This is what I thought. By picking a cheap season, i'm also hoping it will be a bit more quiet so that the pools are not to crowded. But then at 110 degrees, maybe it's going to be too hot to enjoy myself outside.... Note, precisely because of the laws of supply and demand, "cheap" in Vegas DOES NOT equal "quiet"! I don't think there is a quiet season anymore, partly because of the deals offered most times of the year mid-week (except during big conventions), and partly because the target market has broadened considerably over the last 5-10 years with all the new hotels/attractions. That being said, your best bet probably IS mid-week in July or August (though July 4th -- US Independence Day -- if on a weekend can still be quite a zoo). bumpme Jan 23, 06, 10:27 am I don't think there's a cheap season in Vegas since really the rates are geared towards convention dates and they can happen anytime of the year. The cheapest days would be those without conventions that are flying in. skofarrell Jan 23, 06, 6:28 pm I can comment from experience that Mid December (after the National Finals Rodeo) through Christmas Eve is very cheap/quiet, including the weekends. No one wants to gamble right before Christmas. Starting Christmas day the rates shoot back up peaking at New Years. Temps are high 50's to mid 60's during the day and low 40's at night. Too cold to swim (unless you're from Minnesota). :D Loran Jan 24, 06, 9:36 pm Thanks for the info. This is what I thought. Don't count on it. I, along with hundreds of other idiots, once kept the Mandalay Bay pool packed despite 100+ degree June heat :D But, like others have said, this was on a weekend, when it's almost always busier. sc flier Jan 25, 06, 11:45 am Thanks for the info. This is what I thought. By picking a cheap season, i'm also hoping it will be a bit more quiet so that the pools are not to crowded. But then at 110 degrees, maybe it's going to be too hot to enjoy myself outside.... 110 in the shade can still be tolerable in the dry heat. Above that gets pretty rough, and worse if in the sun. When I was in Vegas in July, the temps reached 120. Just a half block walk outside had us looking for the next door into air conditioning and a water fountain. And there are things to do and see outside that would interest many people: Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon, Bellagio fountains, outdoor dining in front of Paris, lounging by a pool (rather than in a pool), or driving a convertible. These things are not as pleasant when it is above 110 in the day and still above 100 in the evening. (And I don't like to get a convertible here when it is above 100.) I think that May and June are a great time to visit for these activities. July and August risk intolerable heat. If wanting a pool outside of the summer months, be sure to check with your hotel to see whether it's open. (I would contact the hotel directly rather than trust some of the outdated websites that try to address this.) Figure out what you want to do while in Vegas, and plan your date range so that the weather matches what you want to do. Then look at the convention calendar and hotel rates. There are deals to be found year round, but many of the best rates don't show up until within 3 months from the stay. There are few times of the year that are not busy, and there are busy times in every single month. As I see it, the times that are not busy are times when few people take vacation AND convention planners can't convince people to leave their families. The few days before Thanksgiving and the dates just before Christmas fit this scenario. Glass Bottom Boater Jan 26, 06, 11:25 am If just going for a short 2-3 day trip, try staying Sat-Mon instead of Fri-Sun, you'll save a bundle on Sunday's hotel over Friday's and youre still only taking 1 day off work. chingching Jan 29, 06, 10:46 pm Grrrr, I lived in Vega$ for 10 years, still own homes there so here goes... I used to drive a cab and it used to drive me nuts when I'd be driving a couple or family and one of them wanted to go to some place they could back home, especially a damn movie. I'd get the too cheap guy who wouldn't spring for a show so now she's crying I pick em up for a $20 cab ride, you know he's gotta buy her $30 worth of popcorn, full price tx for movie, add up plane and hotel, bingo, you just spent $1000 bucks for a movie you could've seen for $4 a piece back home, duhhhhh. When people go to Vega$, do what it's there for, see a great show, gamble for days on end, kill yourself in the buffets, "We'll see or do it next time honey" you may never get a second chance to take your kid to that once in a lifetime show or get that out of the way knick knack, I gave so many free rides from circus jerkus to wet n wild cuz some cheapo wanted to save a few bucks and walk, yes it looks short but in 120heat no one will enjoy it. If you need to swim then I would suggest The Trop, join their club and play you will get gr8 ofers year round and they have one of the best pools, not crowded and located by all the newer South end hotels, the Strat is another affordable, no frills, has a decent rooftop pool and if you are down town the Nugget is the best place to stay. Caesers, Mirage and Hard rock have the best cabannas. there are decent prices in V town april-august... Thats my take, if you are going to go anywhere do the most, you may never have that chance again ^ ^ ^ ^ |
