Las Vegas - The hotel within a hotel - Venezia

Going to LAS to celebrate a birthday and decided to stay at the Venetian. I got a view suite. After reading some Las Vegas threads (sorry, not on FT) talked about a Venetian promotion where if you booked by Jan 12, you got upgraded to the Venezia. I went back and checked my reservation and that is what I got. I read their hotel site but wonder if anyone has some personal experiences. So far, I am traveling by myself but like luxurious accomodations just as much as the next person. I would much rather have a great view of the strip. It seems like the the Venezia is only 12 stories tall. Thanks for any information.

I stayed there on my last trip. The rooms are very nice, an upgrade over the already great rooms in the rest of the Venetian (for example, flat screen TVs (not HDTV)). It is a bit of a walk to your room. The Venezia is quieter than the main hotel, due to the smaller size and less traffic. You probably want to avoid first floor suites on the path to the elevator.

Adding on, the Venezia tower is definitely nicer as the rooms are newer compared with the original tower where rooms are starting to show its age. As Opus17 mentioned it is a trek to get to the rooms. I usually request the original tower so its been a while since I've been in Venezia but I believe you need to go to the 10th floor and then go over a walkway to access Venezia and from there take another elevator to your room's floor. Other than the extended walk I'm sure you will enjoy your accommodations. Good luck and have fun.

I recently stayed in the Venezia. My observations are as follows:
1) The above post is correct; it does take two elevators to get to your room.
2) Although the trek to your room is longer, I believe you are further away from the "noise" of the casino if this is a concern. There is also a guard that prevents you from accessing the Venezia elevator so I guess there is an added level of security.
3) When I checked in, I was told that there was complimentary newspaper and shoe shine, and that these were not available in the regular hotel. Never having stayed at the regular hotel, I don't know if this is true.
4) You have your own check-in/check-out desk, so if you are going at a busy time, it can speed these up.
5) The room was quite nice. Two flat-screen TV's; a bedroom area and a "living room" area with fax machine/printer. Beautiful tile-bathroom. After staying in this room, it was lousy returning to my apartment. :D
6) If I recall, the view was of the mountains and of a parking-garage. I think I could see part of one hotel. There may be rooms with better views.

Hi
The Venezia is a nice upgrade over the existing original hotel.
If you can swing it. Get the Concierge Suite upgrade.
That gives you access to the 12th floor. Hospitality Area
Nice area for "Concierge Guests". Free drinks/bar. Snacks.
Really nice 60" Plasma. I watched Super Bowl here last year.
Great in the morning for coffee and pastry.
You will have use of the private elevator as well.
Yes, you need to hike around the corner and take the Venezia tower elevator. Then you have the easy check in and IMHO a nicer Hotel
in a Hotel. Venezia. Enjoy.
This is my second preference when staying in Las Vegas.
Number One is Skylofts at MGM Grand.
For almost the same money. Like $ 700 Midweek. You can really
do it right. Normal "Casino Rate" on the Venezia Conciege is about $ 400.00
weekend.
Good luck

3) When I checked in, I was told that there was complimentary newspaper and shoe shine, and that these were not available in the regular hotel. Never having stayed at the regular hotel, I don't know if this is true. When I stayed in the regular hotel at a P/L rate, those were not provided and I didn't see it available for anyone in the main hotel section.
I stayed in a regular Venezia room (non-concierge level) last May and didn't find the room to be any different than a regular Venetian room: both are big and comfortable, but I didn't notice anything extra in the Venezia room. Although the TVs may be flat-screen, they are not LCD or plasma.
The hotel isn't too many stories, but it is on top of the parking garage, so if you get a strip-view room it should be good.
There's definitely a trek from the hotel entrance to your room. Once you take the elevator from street-level to the Venezia lobby it's a long walk to the room elevators. But it is a quiet long walk as opposed to a walk through the casino to get to the Venetian elevators.
The pool area at Venezia is nice in that all the chairs are cushioned, but since the pool is in the courtyard direct sunshine is limited. You can easily use the Venetian pool (or vice versa) if you're looking for more of a scene or sun.
My overall experience in Venezia was good, and similar to the Venetian. Personally, I wouldn't go out of my way to request it, and I definitely wouldn't pay more for it.

AFAIK comp newspaper and shoeshine are not common amenities in the original tower section.
