I've had the opportunity to fly on regional jets for a multitude of airlines. I notice there is a perceived notion that smaller airplanes are less steady and more dangerous, but I never had any problems with them. Sure, they're small, but I doubt if the weather is bad then the turbulence will be mitigated on a larger jet moreso than a smaller one.

Air Canada operates a number of these smaller regional jets under the Jazz brand :

European carriers also have a lot of regional jets, such as eurowings

Lufthansa has a huge fleet as well :

I haven't seen that many regional jets in my travels to Asia. But new Hong Kong carrier CR Airways flies a bunch of CRJ regional jets.

I disagree, but that doesn't mean that flying smaller jets cant be exhilarating!

Give me a 747 every time for longhauls, and allow me to enjoy my glass of wine and film in comfort. And nothing else I've yet tried beats that takeoff roll....

Great post. There is some resistance to RJs. I don't mind them myself.
Like the photos and the article-style that you wrote it in, compiling info from various trips (seems like an airliners.net type article, I think they would be more receptive than FTers  )

Air canada jazz (QK) no longer flies the aircraft in the first picture. They phased out the BAe 146s.

Copy/paste is great, isn't it?

The BAe 146's were/are great planes with a lot of engine redundancy. Also have an excellent safety record, especially for RJs

Has Air Canada introduced the Thales on-demand IFE on their RJ's yet? That is bound to change the way many people feel about RJs.

I get used to RJs because that is almost all I fly. When I get on a larger plane I realise what I am missing.

On the CRJ700s maybe, but it'll be a long time before they're installed on the CR2s.

That tow-truck attached to the LH CRJ is pretty darn cool. It looks like a dragster.

I just thought I'd throw in an image or two from my own RJ flying experience.
These are of an Air Dolomiti(EN) ATR flying between MUC and TRS a couple of years ago.

[smartass mode] It's got props so it's not really an RJ. [/smartass mode]
