Hilton HHonors - Diamond Guaranteed Reservation / Force now available online

I noticed this week that Diamond guaranteed reservations (not awards) are now available online. If you are booking via Hilton.com and are logged in you will be presented a rate even if the hotel is sold out. If you are not logged in the hotel will show sold out.

This appears new to me because I've had to call to get the guarantee the few times I've used it in the past. Of course the rates are very inflated especially if you have a corporate discount so I'm having to stay at the crowne plaza next week.

I did a search for diamond force and diamond guarantee and didn't see anything like this. Mods please delete if this is old news.

I just started looking for rooms for next week. I pulled up my normal hotel and the rates were high so I pulled up everything in the are. I then saw that the hotel may be available to Diamond. I went to several of the hotels that were sold out and was able to book a room if needed. The only rate available was a Diamond rate.

Be careful to distinguish between a "Diamond Force" (or "Diamond Override"; a term typically used for getting a reservation for an AWARD stay) vice a "Diamond Guarantee" (the term typically used getting a reservation for a PAID stay when the hotel shows fully booked)

From my experience, it is only the "Diamond Guarantee" (for a paid stay) that is now available online.

I didn't notice that either. maybe because I am working on starwood, marriott promotions recently. ;) Anyway, It's a great news ^ and it seems the price is reasonable.

I just checked some dates next month in Chicago, when I will be there. Hilton suite and The drake both are $389 per night. Chicago Hilton and Palmer House are sold out. The diamond privilege brings out a rate plan called 48 PREF GOLD DIAMOND, which is $329 for both hotel.

I am glad they make this function available online. Definitely a good move, Hilton!

It can't be true
Altough I didn't stay at hilton recently, I traveled a lot in July. All I could recall is the call diamond desk icon. But you can't quote the price online, I think.
