hi! Is is absolutely necessary to pay for membership in order to get a "snooze you lose" deal on Bestfare.com? When I try to book a deal, it gets to the login screen. Is just don't make much sence to require a paid membership....

Any help is appreciated!

You can book most of those fares listed on the "snooze you loose" list directly with the airline or also through other sites like travelocity, expedia and so on.
It's very rare that you have to be a member for those.

IMHO, a Best Fares membership is a waiste of money.

If I see a fare on Bestfares, I usually go to Orbitz to get the flight and airline information, then book it with the airline directly for the bonus miles. It's rare you can't get the same fare at all three locations, but Best Fares is certainly the only way you would know that unless you constantly check fares all over the place every five minutes.

I agree with the comments above. But in case you want to find out for yourself whether there is any value in membership, without paying for it, you can take advantage of the offer for Good Morning America viewers (http://abcnews.go.com/sections/GMA/GoodMorningAmerica/GMA011029Best_fares.html):

"For one week, Oct. 29 through Nov. 4, Good Morning America viewers can access Bestfares.com's deals on a 7-day trial basis, without paying the normal $60 membership fee.

Simply go to the site, find a trip you are interested in, then click on the button that allows you to purchase it.

In the space that says user ID, type in GMA. In the space that says password, again, type in GMA. You will then be directed to a page that lists a toll-free number that you can call to reserve your trip."

The last time I booked a fare through Best fares, it was lower than I could get through sites like Travelocity because they had apparently negotiated an additional discount with the airline (it was TWA). I believe they occasionally have offered lower fares through British Airways also. I used to be a member but didn't figure I saved enough money. I would join if it was lower (like maybe $20/year).
