San Francisco International Airport officials and the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) are gearing up to begin live testing of ePassports and associated readers from 15 January. The tests, which will be performed in collaboration with Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, will look at the operational impact of using new equipment and software to read and verify the information embedded in ePassports.
