Travel Technology - Can download updates but cannot surf or ping...View Full Version : Can download updates but cannot surf or ping... bobes Jan 13, 06, 12:45 am I just installed XP SP2. reboot. am now doing a windows update and downloading like 29 updates at the moment... but cannot surf the web. No go on Ping either... ipconfig seems ok. Any ideas? coudl it be dns or hosts file? thanks cblaisd Jan 13, 06, 1:11 am Wireless or wired? I've already disabled the windows firewall. I use Zone Alarm Integrity Client Firewall UPDATE ok... finished the updates and rebooted a couple of times... now it works... weird.
