got a stay commng up at the Hiltom Grosvenor Glasgow, got a deluxe room booked, any ideas on what perks i receive as a Gold at this hotel and any tips/pointers for my stay?

I stayed there in September of 2004. As a Diamond, I was given decently nice room (I believe I was upgraded to a 'deluxe' room) with king bed. Their behavior seemed to indicate that this was the extent of the upgrade I could receive.

Otherwise, no other amenity was offered, if memory serves. And I was enjoying the Glasgow nightlife that trip, I didn't bother about asking for breakfast coupons.

That said, I really enjoyed the location of this hotel. It's near the university, and on a very (IMO) interesting street. It's also within walking distance of a huge park (the name escapes me), and is a short walk from the subway which takes you right into downtown in 5-10 minutes.

Gives you a feel for the not-quite-touristy Glasgow, while keeping you close to downtown.
