OK. I'm in US preparing for a year-long RTW, and got an unlocked GSM. I got an 800 call forward/callback number. People who call my US T Mobile Cell # will get their calls forwarded to the 800# which forwards them to the local SIM card when I am overseas. So US cell calls can follow me around world. So I'm set. Except for one thing.
My landline.
I am paying IDT $39.95 for US landline, I do not need for next year. I want calls to my landline number to be sent to the 800# and then to local SIM card.
There has to be a cheaper way to do this. I am renting out my US apt. and don't want to pay to keep a phone active, that I don't need or use. I just want to hold onto my existing landline #, have calls go to the 800# and then to Sim. When I get back to US a year from now, I want to have same landline # I have now.
Any ideas? Is there a company I can port my landline # to that will do nothing other than re-route it to 800#. Thanks.
