Flying Blue (Air France & KLM) - HELP! FB Award flight with MH - Segments confirmed but FB will not ticket!

NIGHTMARE!

I secured LHR-KUL-BKK-KUL-LHR as a First/Biz award yesterday (needed to get to thailand and wanted to do the flights in F). Everything was OK, all the flights came back confirmed (first in R, biz in I) but when I came to ticket and pay, I was told that there is a "Technical Problem" and it is not currently possible to book any Business class award seat on Malaysian via FB.

Once the flights came back confirmed I went off and booked my hotels, and so, of course, I'm now really stuffed!

So far, the options I've been offered are:

Fly to KUL in F, and then continue in Y (they do seem to be able to book in Economy - strangely)

Cancel the MH itinerary and fly with SkyTeam (who have no F, and no availability)

I understand that if there is no award availability, then I can't expect them to make it appear by magic - but here, there is availability, they just refuse to book it. They tell me "It is a limitation of Flying Blue" - Is anyone else aware of this? Since when? All of the Earn/Spend docs for MH say you can earn/redeem in any class!

If I've got the miles, and MH have the award availability (the seats were requested, and confirmed by MH whilst I was on the 'phone booking) then I cannot see any reason why I should be denied this routing?

Any ideas??

(oh, and just to make life interesting, I'm flying in 13 days - and counting...)

Ken, call FB back and definitely talk to a supervisor. If that fails, take their offer, as flying KUL-BKK for less than 2 hrs. should be bearable in Y.

Oh, I'm sure - you definitely can't!

This was booked with an FB agent - all segs confirmed - the problem came when I tried to get the *!&!* thing ticketed!

However, to give FB their due, they managed to sort it yesterday, and, thanks to a special exception to the 'rules' I now have the tickets in my hot, sticky hands!

If the FB lurker assisted in this, a big thank you!

Either way, please pass back my compliments to the team who sorted this out, and fulfilled the award as originally offered.

Now, for an encore, I'd suggest that FB settles it differences with MH so that it can fulfill awards as advertised - if I can earn miles in C/F on a carrier, then I expect to be able to burn the miles on that carrier in those classes, or I expect to be warned about the problem before I credit to FB, so that I can make an informed decision about which programme I use.
