Hey,
Curious to find out from anyone if they have any Starwood hotels that they would recommend for a weekend stay in Dallas. I am in my mid-twenties and I am looking for a hotel that is close to all the touristy spots as well as the nightlife. Any major differences between the Sheraton and Westin downtown?
I have a car, but would prefer to keep driving to a minimum.
I've only stayed at the Westin downtown. Nice location and as a Plat got upgraded to a larger corner room.

Would that be the Sheraton Suites Market Center? That's not as close to downtown as the Westin City Center. Location-wise, the Westin would be a pretty good choice even though not much of Dallas's nightlife is downtown. You will be reasonably close though to major nightlife spots like Uptown/McKinney Ave. (might be walking distance depending on where in Uptown you're going), Deep Ellum, and (lower) Greenville Ave. The latter two will require a drive from the Westin (and an even longer drive from the Sheraton Market Center) but shouldn't be more than 5-15 munutes. A cab would probably be advisable given lack of parking and occasional reports of car break-ins in Deep Ellum and Lower Greenville. Uptown is much safer.
Not sure what touristy sites you'll be visiting but the Westin City Center is an easy 2-4 block walk to the arts district (Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center and the Trammell Crow collection) and about a 10-15 block walk to Dealey Plaza. I would only attempt that walk to the JFK site in daylight, however.
Other Dallas tourist attractions will likely require a drive no matter where you stay.
