Apparently, the Independence Air fleet has been ferried to Martinsburg, WV. I'd love to take a drive up there and see if any of the aircraft are visible. If Flyertalker is around there, scope it out for us! My folks don't live too far away in NW VA so my dad may take a ride if he gets a chance.

Really... hmm any way to get confirmation. I don't live too far away and could swing by.

There is 1 FlyI CRJ in MRB, along with 5-6 J41s in UAX colors.

Here they are. Some of them must still be at IAD right now.

Seven Independence Air jets stored at W. Va. airport
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) — Seven jets that served the bankrupt airline Independence Air are being parked at Eastern West Virginia Regional Airport.
One of the airline's 50-passenger Bombardier CRJ-200 jets has already landed at the Martinsburg airport and six more are expected to arrive next week.

Aviation Experts International, which is located at the airport, has a service agreement to store the seven jets temporarily. It's not clear what will happen to the planes in the long run; they could potentially be leased or bought by other operators. (More on Independence Air: See more coverage in Today in the Sky)

"We don't know what's going to happen with these planes," said Bob Creighton, the founder, owner and president of Aviation Experts.

The company has an agreement with the Eastern West Virginia Regional Airport Authority to store up to 15 planes at a time at the airport.

The Independence Air jets are owned by different banks. They needed someone to maintain them now that the airline is out of business, Creighton said.

Independence Air, which operated a a fleet of 42 aircraft, flew its last passengers Jan. 5 after being in operation for less than 19 months. The discount airline served 36 markets from its hub at Washington Dulles International Airport.

Independence parent company FLYi Inc. filed for bankruptcy Nov. 7.

I was flying out of IAD yesterday and there were still a few DH jets out there. I can't remember if they were CRJ's or A319's.
