American Express Membership Rewards - 2006 FHR directory
I'd be surprised if this hasn't been discussed yet, but I couldn't find anything. Has anyone received their 2006 FHR directory? I also can not find an on-line link to the directory (the link I had been using no longer works); does anyone have one?
The printed directory normally come in Feb/March.
The on-line one is already updated.
Here is the link. (http://www134.americanexpress.com/travelfhr/PlatCCSGServlet?request_type=pcfhrfinder)

Rates are negotiated right up to year end so there is no way to get the printed version out before February or March. As suggested above, info is available online or by asking your AMEX travel agent.
I received my 2006 directory the week before Christmas. Please mention if you have specific questions about the contents.

Odd how AMEX is sending these out inconsistently. I have not received mine yet (1/6/06).
Indeed, I think I received the 2005 directory in August or September, but it was beat up and I just assumed it had been mishandled by the postal service. Not sure why they bother, does it contain any information not available online? (Actually, it's easy to see why Amex bothers, they sell full page ads to hotels.)

Plats seem to have to ring and ask - I never get one (UK based) despite booking from it 3-4 times per year.

I'm a Cent and got my FHR directory in early January too with a note saying the full benes package would be coming soon. The bene pack has not arrived yet.....

The bene pack has not arrived yet.....
thats probably because they are thinking on what other benefits to take away, since from what i read on this forum, thats all they seem to care to do now.
I have the Platinum card (USA) and the book arrived unrequested.

I called and spoke w/ AMEC CENT CSR this past week and she told me they were being mailed out as we speak on a rolling basis throughout the month of Jan. and I believe she mentioned that they should all be out the door by end of Jan. So, I am looking for next 5-10 days.
I speak of the FHR book; not sure on CENT annual package.

I just came upon this thread and hope someone can amplify what FHR etc is all about. I have an personal Amex Gold and don't know if that qualifies me to "join" FHR program or is the program only limited to business card holders. Do I need to upgrade to an Amex Plat card to qualify? From reading the various threads, it appears that at its best, the FHR will save me some money sometime. Thanks for indulging a newbie re this subject. BTW, if there's a link that can answer my questions, I'd appreciate it so that I won't be imposing on you all.

FHR is only available to Platinum and Centurion card holders.
So, in order to be able to take advantage of it, you will need to upgrade to a personal Platinum card.
Views differ a lot when it comes to the value of the FHR program. In my opinion, it is worth every penny of the Platinum card fee.

The value is there if you put it to use. And heck, I'm using it for a day stay in New York SOLELY because of the guaranteed late checkout. Which is definitely nice. Don't remember how many hotel elite programs guarantee late checkout..
About the directory though, I never got one this year either. My "benefits" magazine thing took months to arrive too. Oh well, Departures is arriving fine :)
