Las Vegas - Stardust to Close at Year-End

We heard on the news this morning before leaving LAS, that the Stardust will close by the end of 2006. It will be demolished and a new resort will replace it according to Boyd Gaming. We were just there last night to watch The Havana Night Club show.
One of the lounges at Startdust had a really good local band, and the lounge appeared to have a lot of locals as patron too. It was a good crowd, and folks felt free to mingle with each other.

I'll actually miss it -- we like the Stardust.
The WSJ article this morning said early 2007, though I'm sure none of those dates have been finalized yet.

That's too bad. Though we did not stay the hotel, we went to the Rick Thomas magic show and thought it was great for the price and the time factor. It was at two pm.

From what I heard they will stay open for CES/AES 2007, and possibly the Superbowl.

We liked it, but I'm Latino [Costa Rica], so I'm partial to stuff like this. Ms. M8 liked it also, she's Anglo, but fluent in Spanish too and has lived in several Latin countries. While the dialog is in English, the songs are in Spanish. The dancing in the show was excellent. Ms. M8 says the lead singer looks like Andy Garcia. Lots of hot babes dancing in skimpy clothes ;)

I never have had any luck with their slots at all. I have had some at their tables... but mostly I've always found it a remarkably comfortable and friendly place to play. I'll miss it muchly... oh well, no stopping the march of the strip I suppose.
