First off, let me say i understand fully that it would be alot cheaper to buy my tickets in Hong Kong. But, for several reasons, I am choosing to buy them now/ahead of my trip.

I need to get from Hongkong to Beijing. Searching quickly on Expedia, etc. I see the route is usually flown by Air China.

Air China's website SUCKS. It wouldnt allow me to do a fare search. Can anyone reccomend a website to buy the tickets?

I see there is already another thread about travel agents. Should I call a TA? Are their rates any cheaper?

My date to fly from HKG to PEK is July 7th,2006; pref. in Business.

thanks sooo much! :)

The route is also flown by Dragonair (multiple times per day) and Cathay Pacific (twice per day with not womderful timings); there is some code-sharing between all three airlines. You might well be able to get these segments in conjunction with your transpacific ticket, particularly if flying transpac on CX. If you haven't already arranged your transpac travel I would talk to a TA where you are starting from to see if they can do it as an add-on to the transpac.
Dragonair has published fares here: http://www.dragonair.com/icms/servlet/template?series=39&article=142&lang=eng but you can only book offline.

Cathay's website does allow you to book online at their website. The fare for one-way seems to be HK$2640+tax in Y or HK$3560+tax in business or HK$4600+tax in First on the flight which offers it (CX6118, which is a codeshare of CA118). http://www.cathaypacific.com/hk/booking/start#
