The AAA lists this as a top attraction in Houston. You'll pay $17-18 a person plus $5 a car for parking. For that, you get to queue for 40 minutes or more to take a Johnson Space Center tram tour that stops at two places: mission control and the mockup/training center. Interesting, but presented in a most sterile manner.
The price of admission also includes a building filled with poorly done additional attractions and lots of things for sale.
We just went today and thought it was a sad, tawdry attraction that NASA has subcontracted to a "non-profit" entity that is doing a lousy job.
I am a huge fan of the space program and NASA needs a good PR campaign to keep the public interested. This isn't the way.
