Hi,

I am currently in Thailand. I am looking for a calling card to call from Thailand to USA and India.

Any suggestions on the best way to make these calls. I am in Bangkok.

I have a local (Bangkok) phone number on my mobile.

Thanks
Andy

This will help. (http://www.usa.att.com/traveler/access_numbers/country/index.jsp?iso2=TH&%26lid%3DGo_Button_Index_Page.x=19&%26lid%3DGo_Button_Index_Page.y=4)

Dial this number first when calling from Thailand.
1-800-000-133
or
001-999-11111

Use your credit card, VISA, AMEX, MC, Disc

Thailand has inexpensive Sim cards and low cost international rates for cell phones.

If you have an unlocked Gsm phone, that would be the way to go. Inbound calls are paid by the caller and don't use air time.

Look for those IDD phone cards by Hatari. Available in places like 7-11 convenience stores or even at B2S bookstore (check out counter) at Central Childom.

Of course, if you have broadband access and a computer, then Voipbuster or Skype is by far the cheapest (1 cent/min or less).

FWIW, I'd posted:

"Calling From Abroad at Reasonable Rates" over in "TravelBuzz" yet it now appears to have been moved, yet the link is seemingly not working so, FWIW...

I sincerely hope that this is of some help. Again, just watch out for the hidden surcharges, if any, as they can really add up.

If this will help. Voipbuster seems to add Thailand as one of 'the call-for-free' countries.

I just get a CAT PhoneNet calling card. The rates are really low and quality is excellent. Should be able to pick one up at any 7/11 or mall customer service counter. They come in 500 and 1000baht cards.
