Other Middle East and Africa Frequent Flyer Programs - lounge access in TLV with AA PLT card?

I'm travelling on LY but I have oneworld status (an AA PLT card). Can I use a lounge or other benefits (business check-in etc) in TLV?

LY is AA mileage partner. Period. No lounge and/or other Elite privilages that I know of. If you flew BA or IB out of Israel you would get extra benefits.

Doesn't look like you automatically get access to the Dan Lounges (http://www.danhotels.com/danSite/eng/touristInfo.asp?infoNo=11) either but I wouldn't be surprised if they'd sell you access. That said, the airport is very spacy and comfortable and other than some free food I'm not sure there is really of much to be had in the Dan lounges.

Thanks for the replies. I was just wondering -- I know of course that LY isn't in OneWorld (and probably won't be since RJ is joining, unless they merge in future?)

Anyway, a related question (at least to this itinerary): will LY check my bags through to JFK if I have a separate AA ticket connecting to the AA flight at LHR?

I know. I was totally bowled over by my trip over the summer (first time in Terminal 3!). It was delightful. The stonework is especially nice, but I thought the best thing was the ramp to passport control downhill while you watched the departing passengers go uphill on the other side, and then reached the passport control to be greeted by (of all things) an amazing ancient mosaic on the wall.

My only gripe (a minor one) was that LY didn't give out landing cards on the plane like the US airlines I've travelled on do. I took a stash for future use though -- but wouldn't this make sense? Why don't they do it?

And as regards the free wireless -- go Israel! Why doesn't that happen in the US or the UK more often? :-)

it woudl make sense I suppose, but you don't *neeD* the landing cards. the last time I flew CO they didn't have then and we didn't need them.

The most serious problem with the new terminal is that the facilities for disabled passengers are probably the worst for any major airport in the developed world.

I'm in the same boat. Here is an unpublicized trick. The Dan lounges are $20 for 1 time entrance, (what is $20 for an ego boost, eh? :D )

LAS also has free WiFi, JFK/LGA have admiral clubs now I just need GVA to have it and I'm set....

Thanks for the idea. If I have a long wait it might be worth it. Also good to know that the ACs have free wireless. I thought it was TMobile which required a subscription (or is that just in LHR?)
