Has anyone stayed at this property? How would you rate it?

I stayed there just last week. It was a good property right on the water. I didn't get one of the corner rooms because the hotel was rather full with swimming teams from colleges. The rooms were large, nice furniture but I found the bed to be a little hard for my likings.

The breakfast area can become rather crowded and I do mean crowded. Like I said I had a lot of college students there during my stay and they took over the place during breakfast. Was very hard to find a table and I almost went somewhere else for breakfast.

I would stay there again just to see how it was the second time around. I've heard good things for the property so I would give it a chance.

The good part is it's very quite. I was able to see the beach from where I was at and I opened the windows and I loved the water sounds. Made be go to sleep a lot easier.

I just returned from this resort after a 5 day stay with my family. We thouroughly enjoyed the resort and our stay. As HH Gold we were upgraded to oceanview, which was beautiful. Great view of the sunrise every morning. The hotel was not crowded and didn't have any problems at breakfast or at the evening cocktail reception. The pool was nice as was the beach.

Other than the parking charge of $14 per day, I didn't feel like I was being nickled and dimed. Use of the pool toys was free as were boogie boards and sand toys for the beach. The chair and umbrellas at the beach were also free.

There was also the nice touch of the staff delivering cut oranges to the guests as they lounged by the pool or on the beach.

The only problem we had was with the restaurant which was very slow at night, also had a billing discrepancy, which was resolved by the manager.

The property was in relatively good shape but the fold out sofa in our living room was bent so you kept rolling to the middle of the bed.

If you have any specific questions please ask.

Steve

I think there is some confusion here ...

The Hilton Deerfield Beach/Boca Raton (http://www.hilton.com/en/hi/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=DERHIHF) is about 5 miles west of the beach, near Interstate 95. There is no parking charge. There is a pool, but it is probably difficult to set up beach umbrellas on the concrete pool deck. If you get an upper-floor room on the east side, you may get a glimpse of the far-off ocean on the horizion, but it would be a real stretch to call it a beach view!

The Embassy Suites Deerfield Beach (http://embassysuites.hilton.com/en/es/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=DEEFLES) is right on the beach.

You are right Isogyre, I was talking about the Embassy Suites Deerfield Beach.
The Hilton is not near the beach, it is adjacent to I95.

Sorry for the confusion.

They do offer free shuttle to the local regional rail line, Tri Rail I think is the name, and that can take you almost anywhere in Southern Florida. The food is really really good, I remember eating dinner there every night, something I almost never do at hotels. However, I did noticed some lizards running around in the pool area, which I thought was kindda cool since I kindda like lizards, but maybe its cause it was summer when I stayed and their out and about.

TriRail is indeed the local commuter service in So Fla. They run service between Miami and West Palm Beach. Schedules, should you need them, can be found here. (http://www.tri-rail.com/)

The junior suite and the deluxe room at the deerfield beach hilton are the same price. Anyone stay in those before? Which one is nicer?

Thanks!

I have stayed there several times when on business. When making reservations, I don't recall what the room was shown as, but each time I have stayed, I have been given an apt size room - it is a living area with a kitchen table, fridge, microwave, 2 bathrooms, and a seperate bedroom [one bathroom off bedroom, the other off living room] - some rooms were slightly larger than the others but all have been large and roomy. Note the restaurant at this hotel is not much to get excited about and I would not really recommend it. Dine elsewhere. Its near the Deerfield Beach pier and there are some restaurants there.

Sound good, except they allow dogs :(
I have never been to a hotel that allows dogs, so I am worrying the rooms sanitary condition.

Oops, I was not paying attention. My earlier comments were in re to Deerfield Beach ES and NOT the Hilton. Can't comment on the Marriott but the ES was nice as I stated earlier. The rates do fluctuate quite a bit but right after the holidays you might find some good rates. It is directly on the beach and I have always had a great view - even though I was there for business.

By the way, I have stayed there at about 5 times, never saw a dog on the premises.

Me and my wife decided to head to FL for a few days to get away. I had booked the Hampton Inn across the street and a few days before our trip this hotels rate dropped to the same as the Hampton so being a fan of more full service properties we gave it a go.

We arrived late so the check in was easy and the person at the front desk friendly. We got put in a exec level room but only doubles where available and I knew this when I booked so no surprise and not fault of the property. She told me to just check the next day and it was so late that we didnt care.

The next day we did get switched to a King and the room was the same only with a king bed and they are newer rooms with the newer Hilton bedding which I like a lot. I found it to be a pretty standard Hilton room nothing exciting but perfectly comfortable. There is internet in hotel and it is all wireless so that stinks for me and my wife as we travel with a router and share one connection for both of us. The internet is 10 bucks for 24/hrs.

The restaurant service was hit and miss. They worked really hard but they dont have a hostess and the bar can get busy so if you sit on the other side of the bench seats the server cant always see you sitting there so you have to track them down. The food was average and a little over priced I thought. Breakfast was given as a Diamond and average buffet style with not a very large selection.

I thought the location was good as it wasnt very far at all to the beach and there are several restaurants within 10 minutes driving distance.

I did use the fitness center and they had some decent equipment in there, treadmill, stair climber and bike.

Although I found the property to be nice I hate paying for internet and would probably just stay at the Hampton Inn across the street next time. I see no reason not to stay here but it really offers nothing over the Hampton Inn if you ask me.

Nah, those are year 'round critters. My kids take the anole lizards and wear them like earrings from their earlobes. No piercing required, just direct the little mouthies and lizards will hang on for the ride. Like the pix below:

http://www.bio.ilstu.edu/julianolab/Anole%20earring.jpg

The earrings freak out our northern visitors. Hey, but sunshine 24/7 is bound to get us balmy. Right now, we having a eco-fight with a wild iguana population. No native predators. We're being overrun and citizens are being chastised for shooting them with crossbows.

Highs of '78 this weekend and since that Hilton pool is surrounded by concrete it will be warm either way. IMHO, Swimming pools down here are almost unpleasantly warm and rarely refreshing unless its after Xmas or so. Now, the Deerfield ES could be cooler, due to the ocean breezes. But I-95, nah...
