In the off season i have seen a few Ritz Carlton properties on EasyClickTravel (listed as "off the record" in which the hotel name isn't shown until after purchase) for some very good rates.
Last summer they were offering the Ritz in downtown Manhattan for ~$110/nite (IIRC).

And the winning bidder will probably post to the Luxury Hotels forum, complaining that the caviar wasn't really Beluga.
