Any experiences with Air Blue?

Flying to LHE from MOW for the holidays, and had trouble finding seats on EK or QR, so flying to DXB on SU, and bought a seperate ticket on ED to LHE.

Business was sold out, so flying economy.

Any experiences with ED?

Anyone know how early I can check in on ED? Arrive in Dubai at 02:50, but ED flight to LHE not till 15:00. Wanted to see some friends in DXB, and was wondering if it is reasonable to expect to be able to check in for ED after landing and clearing customs in DXB.

Haven't flown it personally but I know lots of people who have. Check In can only be done 2 or 3 hours before check in, not before. I had the same problem in Dubai, but with a different airline - rulers are the same though.

However, I have heard nothing but good things about then. Flights are on time, nice new planes, great airfares. Website it high-tech as well, and you can even book and pay online.

Please note that Air Blue leaves from Terminal 2 - seems obvious, but you would be surprised how many people don't know there is more than 1 terminal at DXB :)

Also, what is the Duty Free like at T2? Specifically, I need to get a new cell phone, and was wondering if the Dubai T2 Duty Free is good, or if I should just buy the phone outside the airport during my 13 hr transit period.

T2 is the charter and private jet terminal, so it is unlikely that SU will land there. IIRC Duty Free is non existant in T2

Just a correction to my previous post for future reference - there is a small (1,000sqft) Duty Free Space in Dubai terminal 2
